The Collierville Youth Athletic Association (CYAA) administers competitive baseball teams for ages 7 to 14 years old. CYAA will form teams when there are enough qualified participants for each age group. Team Collierville generally competes at the “Major” or “AAA” level and the Collierville Red’s, Collierville Blue’s and the Collierville Express compete at the AA level.
Competitive teams typically practice 2-4 times per week and play 40-65 games per season, including tournaments against local, regional and national teams. The competitive teams play under the rules of the USSSA ( www.usssa.org or www.usssa.com ). The USSSA age cut-off is April 30 (for example, a player must still be 9 on April 30, 2009 to play on the 9 year-old team).
Competitive baseball tryouts and team selection are complete for 2009.
CYAA competitive baseball tryouts are held yearly in late August early September for players age 7 – 14. Tryouts will include AA, AAA and Major level teams. Register for tryouts on line at this web site or at the Collierville Community Center in August 2009 for the 2010 baseball season. Coaches and Board Members will be on hand at the Community Center at that time for Q&A (Check this web site for updates on the schedule). Tryout locations for each age group will be posted on the website as soon as they are available.
