The Ellisville Coaches' Code of Conduct. We encourage all coaches and managers to follow the code and to be the ones to set the example that our children can use as role models.
The Code: I hereby pledge to provide constructive support, care and encouragement for the players I coach while participating in the Ellisville Athletic Association youth sport programs by following the Coaches’ Code of Conduct:
-
I promise to encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, parents, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other related event; in order to encourage a constructive and enjoyable experience for all.
-
I promise to treat players, parents, coaches, fans and officials with respect at all times. Keeping in mind that the umpires are usually just a few years older than my players.
-
I promise to treat players as individuals; as well as, members of a team.
-
I promise to do my best to provide a safe and healthy (physical and mental) environment for my players.
-
I promise to remember that baseball / softball is a game and that games are played to have fun, and to do all that I can to make the experience fun for all children playing the game. I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging and will use coaching techniques appropriate for the skill level and age group I am coaching.
-
I promise to remember that the game is for the children – not for the adults. Therefore, I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of any personal desire to win. I accept the responsibility that what I say and do has a direct impact on my players; therefore, my comments and actions will be constructive and encouraging.
