What does my registration fee include?
Regular season plays 8 games plus equipment rental for the sesaon. In addition, your player may be selected or qualify for the opportunity for post-season play. The 2010 season registration fee is $125.00 for each player for the tackle division; $75 for flag football, and $55 for K-ball kindergarten flag football.
Each player will receive a league T-shirt and a game jersey that is yours to keep.
Refund Policy: Effective immediately, no refunds will be allowed, no exceptions.
Returned Checks: All returned checks will be submitted to the Office of the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney for collection, no exceptions.

Equipment Guarantee:
By registering you agree to the safekeeping and timely return of the football equipment leased to you by Columbia Youth Football League. Please do not modify or mark the equipment in any manner to make it unusable or undesirable for future participants. Equipment should be returned as issued, excepting for normal wear and tear, in good condition to CYFL. Please see our equipment care and cleaning guidelines.
In order to keep our costs low and registration fees affordable, your equipment must be returned promptly at the end of the of season. If special arangements are required by please contact our equipment manager. In the event that the equipment is not returned, your account will be charged $150.00 for the value of the equipment issued to your player by the Columbia Youth Football League. FFailure to either return your equipment or reimburse CYFL for the missing equipment will preclude your player from participating in any future CYFL activities.
What equipment do I need for my player?
You will need to provide your player with appropriate football cleats. A practice jersey is also needed. Athletic under-shorts with cup are recommended for your player’s safety. We will provide a mouthpiece and chinstrap but you may choose to purchase one for your player. Inexpensive mouthpieces work just as well as the fancy ones. Most players will chew through a couple during the season so please don’t overspend.
Equipment rental includes football pants and pads, shoulder pads, an appropriate size helmet with chin strap and mouthpiece.

When is the combine?
The combine will be held on Saturday, July 31st, 2010. The combine will begin at 9:00 am for the Senior Division (7th and 8th grade). The Junior Division (5th and 6th grade) will begin at 11:00 , and the Beginning Division (3rd and 4th) will begin at 1:00 . The combine consists of 4 different stations. The first is getting the athletes height and weight. The other three stations are agility drills consisting of 40 yard dash, four corners drill and a tackling drill. Each athlete will be given a score of 1 through 5 for each agility drill. These scores will be used by the coaches during the draft process.
The combine takes approximately 90 minutes to complete due the large number of athletes that are rotating through each station. Athletes check out equipment out on the day of the combine, so parents must be available to sign appropriate paperwork in order to receive equipment. Athletes just need to wear shorts and a t-shirt and cleats or tennis shoes.
Any athlete that is unable to attend the combine can submit their height and weight by a physician to a board member so that information can be used during the draft process.
Athletes that cannot attend the draft and do not submit a height and weight measurement will be placed on teams by a board member during the first week of practice. These athletes should report to the equipment shed, and they will be placed on a team after completing a several agility drills.
When do practices begin?

Monday, August 9, 2010 is the start of the Columbia Youth Football season. Please have your child available to start the season on the first day. All forms must be completed at this time including the Medical Release Form (submitted at Equipment Issue) and the CFYL Parent and Player Code of Ethics pledge (signed at registration). Due to insurance liability issues, there can be no exceptions.
Practices are held at Cosmo Park and last approximately two hours. Practices are held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until school starts. After the first day of school, the team will only practice three nights a week. It is up to each respective coach which night the team will practice. Practices will get shorter as the sun begins to set earlier.
