TRAINING LEAGUE OVERVIEW

Training League is for boys ages 5-7 years of age
10 game season runs May 1^st through July 15th

All games are played at E.A.A. (rained out games will be rescheduled if possible)

Games are scheduled throughout the week (no games scheduled on holiday weekends unless requested)

T-shirts and pants are provided (pants to be returned at the end of the season)

Teams are responsible for hats and names/numbers on shirts if desired

Due to limited practice field availability, training league teams are to seek their own practice fields and times.

E.A.A. provides each team an equipment bag with helmets, catcher's gear and practice balls.
A softer training league ball is provided and must be used during games. No exceptions.

All 5U & 6U games are played on field #8 with a 1 hour time limit.

7U games have a 1 ½ hour time limit.

All players bat each inning.

Score is not kept and there are not any umpires.

5U is coach-pitch for 7 pitches and then a batting tee may be used.

6U & 7U divisions are optional coach-pitch or use pitching machine.

All players will be awarded trophies during a ceremony at E.A.A in August.

Each team is given two concession duty exemptions for the manager and an assistant coach.

5U DIVISION GUIDELINES

PITCHING DISTANCE: 28 FEET (COACH PITCH)
BASE DISTANCE: 40 FEET

1. Season begins early May and continues thru mid July. If possible rainouts are made up.
2. T-shirts and pants are provided. Players keep shirts
3. Each team will have 11 players minimum (Coach option for additional players)
4. Each team must provide one NEW ball per game.
5. Only EAA issued training league balls are to be used.
6. Pitching machines are not to be used. If left on field from previous game please move out of play.
7. Players should run base to base. If batted ball is still in outfield, runners may advance extra bases.
8. All players bat each inning.
9. Last batter may clear the bases (Attempt to keep defensive players in position while last batter runs).
10. Due to lack of space on Field #8 no on deck batters are permitted.
11. All batters and runners must wear helmets.
12. Each batter to receive 7 pitches (At this point batter to hit off batting tee).
13. Defensively all players are to play in the field. One player per position in the infield, all others in the outfield.
14. Catchers must wear all equipment (NOTE: If catcher is used a defensive coach should be used to ensure safety).
15. If both teams are present, no batting practice is allowed. Warm-up on your own side of field.
16. Managers should teach players good sportsmanship and respect towards opposing team.
17. Time limit per game in 60 minutes.

Managers using pitching machines are responsible for making adjustments prior to game time. NOTE: Machines are located in the electric room of concession stand.
7. All players bat each inning.
8. Last batter may clear the bases (Attempt to keep defensive players in position while last batter runs).

35 FEET (MACHINE PITCH)

BASE DISTANCE: 50 FEET

1. Season begins early May and continues thru mid July. If possible rainouts are made up.
2. Each team must provide one NEW ball per game.
3. Only EAA issued training league balls are to be used.
4. Pitching machine is to be turned off when not in use during the game.
Managers using pitching machines are responsible for making adjustments prior to game time. NOTE: Machines are located in the electric room of concession stand.
5. All players bat each inning.
6. NOTE: Last batter may NOT round the bases. Player should advance to next safe base and play will stop.
7. Only one on deck batter at a time (NOTE: If Field #8 is used NO on deck batters are permitted).
8. All batters and runners must wear helmets.
9. Each batter to receive 7 pitches (At this point batter to hit off batting tee).
10. Batting team coaches choice to play outs or continue to run bases.
11. Defensively all players are to play in the field. One player per position in the infield, all others in the outfield.
