Lynn opened the meeting at 10:05 – Sr. Rita opened the meeting a reflection and prayer. We were encouraged to take a copy of The Servicette; a write up of the LOC Annual Meeting. Ann Massen introduced Sr. Carleen who works with the Vincentian criminal justice committee. She gave us a small talk about a study that was done on prisons. Two things we can do for those right out of prison – backpacks and cleaning kits. Two things we can do for systemic change – send letters to state reps to vote for SB764 and an email asking the to make sure the intervention fee be used to give rehabilitation opportunities to the person for whom it was intended.
Mary Lou read the meeting minutes – Lois approved them. Helen read the financial report.
Lynn talked about the dinner we provided to Let’s Start. Our next visit to Let’s Start is Tuesday March 11. Emails will be sent out reminding everyone to attend.
Lynn talked to us about the food pantry. St. Vincent De Paul would like for us to bring the bags over but let them stock the shelves. We are going to give over the monthly food collection to St. Vincent De Paul. Lynn is going to talk to Fr. Jim and make sure he continues to assist the Guardian Angel Food Pantry. We will vote next meeting if we are going to do this – the motion was seconded.
Casserole Committee – Mary Lee discussed it – it will be on the 3rd Thursday – the next one will be March 20th. Mary Lee passed a sign up sheet to get email addresses so that she can set up a schedule.
Mary Lou gave a Louisettes update that she is in contact with Gay Applebuam. The date of the Easter party is: April 5th . How do I get the nun to do the presentation of Elizabeth Ann Seaton?
Fish Fry – Linda told us that cup cakes don’t go. Cakes, Pies, breads. Need to bring towels and wash clothes. Plastic bags and glad containers for leftovers. Ann also asked that no kids be allowed to work with the cakes without their parents. We need people to volunteer – Ann is sending around a sign up sheet.
Nominating Committee – Jane and Mary Lou will discuss what they are going to do and when.
Installation mass – Lynn is going to talk to Fr. Jim and see when we will have the Mass.
Ann gave an update for the Easter party – games will be redone. April 5 - Time is 1:00 – 3:00. It’s really called a spring party. Ann, Linda and Lynn are going to send out emails to find out who is going to be doing what.
Committee Chairs – Angel Arms and Special Events need a chair. Jane is volunteered to be the chair for Angel Arms. Lois and Barb have the Let’s Start. Ann has the Easter Party.
Mary Lee is taking the Stories of Hope book. Ann discussed the Hoolie – March 16th at 1025 Washington – from 1:00 – 4:00 – all money goes to IRPW. Live music. There will be raffles – there will be snacks. Jane’s number was drawn and she gave the $100 to Haitian Hearts.
