To promote the civic spirit and general welfare of the community and to provide opportunities for youth to participate in athletic activities and competitions while developing good sportsmanship, leadership skills and self esteem.
New Melle Sports and Recreation, Inc. (NMSR) is a volunteer operated, 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that has been the center of community activities and youth programming since 1953.

More than 12,000 volunteer hours are donated annually to NMSR to coach teams, maintain the grounds, make improvements, run the concession stand, staff the Activity Center and maintain the Recreation Hall for special events.
The entire community appreciates and continually supports the efforts of NMSR, as do all of our families, because they know the importance of having children laugh, play and enjoy time together in a wholesome and welcoming environment.

The opportunities are endless. Be sure to check the website www.newmellesports.com for more information on how you can help.
Participating at NMSR is an opportunity for children to learn to play organized sports, adults to serve as role models for their children by working together for a common goal and being part of something that isn’t found in many larger programs today—that feeling of community.
Opportunities for learning, building self-esteem, leadership development, good sportsmanship and much more abound at NMSR. These values are at the forefront of all we teach in our programs.
Many school districts throughout western St. Charles, Warren and Franklin Counties are represented at NMSR, including private schools. This expanded base promotes the concept of friendship. Learning to make friends builds self confidence and develops solid social skills that will be utilized in all areas of a child’s life, well into adulthood.
Because of NMSR’s long history, many of the coaches and volunteers working for the program today were once the children who learned good citizenship and sportsmanship from participating here.
